“Strive for progress not perfection” (anonymous)

I am Licensed Social Worker who entered the field with a passion for perinatal well-being and women’s health issues. Becoming a parent can transforms one’s life entirely and can bring up old buried struggles while also introducing a new and demanding set of challenges. Likewise, dealing with personal or social adversity related to women’s issues can add confusion and pressure to already hectic and taxing lives. My therapeutic approach centers the lived experiences of my clients using a feminist and holistic approach to understanding the complex feelings both within oneself and the relationships and environments which make up all of our lives.

  • Perinatal Mental Health~fertility challenges, difficult pregnancies, perinatal loss, challenging birth experiences, perinatal anxiety and depression, parental exhaustion, distressing thoughts
  • Struggles with Mood and Wellness~depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, high stress
  • Mindfulness and Coping Techniques-~managing stress and powerful emotions, building resilient capacity
  • Transitions-

~codependency, relationship issues, struggles with body image

How I Can Help

Empathy is the foundation of my practice. My empathy has been strengthened by observations and experiences with psychotherapy where I have learned that connection and understanding are essential components of a therapeutic alliance. I believe each client is a complex individual and while no two people are exactly alike, strength and hope come from the recognition that each is not alone. I support my clients with active listening, affirmation, and honesty. I strive to practice cultural humility and be LQBTQ+ affirming and I am attentive to the ways in which my clients’ many identities intersect one another.

Each person that begins a therapeutic relationship does so with their own wisdom, experiences, and gifts. With care and candor, I work with clients to build upon existing attributes and coping mechanisms and encourages self-compassion while developing new skills for the present and future.
