Lisa has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2009. She has worked in various mental health settings for 12 years including non-profit community mental health, where she has worked with family support centers in various Pittsburgh locations assisting families with young children from ages 0-3. She has assisted new mothers and fathers in dealing with the challenges of pregnancy, delivery and infancy and is trained in dealing with trauma and grief. She also has a deep understanding of how families are impacted by their own family histories when becoming new parents themselves and how this can bring about new and unexpected stress to family relationships. Lisa has also worked with families dealing with infertility, pregnancy loss, stillbirth, SIDS. She also has a deep and personal understanding how much responsibility raising a child is in troubling environment and understands the strength it takes to seek help during these sensitive times. Lisa has helped many adults, teens and couples with depression, anxiety, bullying and self-esteem issues and practices by understanding her client’s worldview and how this impacts the manner in how they receive therapeutic support. She believes strongly in an individual’s ability to heal from difficult experiences by drawing on their strengths, receiving support and learning new skills by reframing thoughts, processing emotions and practicing mindfulness.

  • Anxiety-I feel one of my strengths is helping people discover underlying issues that lead to anxiety and helping them develop skills to manage this anxiety and make changes that will make their lives more comfortable.
  • Helping people heal from Trauma is an issue that I feel is something I do well and feel that in today’s world this is an issue that affects everyone and that is it powerful to be able to help someone overcome something devastating.
  • I enjoy working with individuals with Depression and helping them to find better ways of thinking and taking care of themselves so that they can feel better about their life and be able to maintain satisfaction with their day to day activities or work.
