We know that therapy, as we know it is, was not made with everyone in mind. We aim to change that.

Forward Wellness was incorporated in 2015 with the mission to support all people and families by increasing accessible, quality, socially conscious therapy and decreasing stigma of mental health struggles and treatment.

Forward Wellness was born after founder Jodie Hnatkovich lost her daughter, Mae, and struggled to find adequate support despite being a therapist herself. Jodie strove to fill that lifesaving gap and cultivated a practice centering trauma, grief, and loss across reproductive experiences.

Our practice continues to offer expertise in Reproductive Mental Healthcare, including across abortion, infertility, queer family building, medical and birth trauma, and pregnancy and infant loss.

Our practice grew to offer expertise in two other undersupported populations: trans, gender nonconforming, and LGBTQIA2S+ folks; and those who identify as neurodivergent and seeking acceptance, liberative based therapy.

What We Believe

We aim to foster personal growth and liberation through self-reflection and therapeutic exploration

We honor the transformation journey of moving through discomfort toward healing and self-discovery.

We believe in the power of unique narratives, offering each client a personalized and flexible therapeutic experience that respects their individuality.

Our Values

Embrace Self-Reflection and Growth: We believe in the transformative power of self-reflection as a path to personal liberation and growth. Our therapists are dedicated to guiding clients through this journey of self-discovery.

Honor Transformation: We recognize the courage in navigating discomfort towards transformation. Our therapists feel privileged to support each client’s unique process of healing.

Celebrate Diversity in Healing: We understand that healing is deeply personal and varies for each individual. We embrace diversity in therapeutic approaches, ensuring that every client receives a tailored meaningful experience based on their individual needs.

None of us can grow in isolation – we all grow together.

Training Quality Clinicians

The more quality trained clinicians there are, the more people can be helped. Specifically, those that have been notoriously left behind. Through our Forward Allies initiative, we are able to collaborate with our community to spread awareness and better educate our mental health professionals.

Connecting With Our Community

We recognize that it can be difficult to access care through traditional methods. Low income, access to health care, limited trained clinicians, and busy schedules are just a few examples. That’s why it’s important to us to provide group coaching aimed at supporting all people and all families. These events allow more opportunities to receive care and help build a community of support. You can do this. We are in this together!
