What working with me is like
I believe that, as human beings, we never stop learning, and we underutilize our ability to learn from each other. I am interested in hearing your voice through your stories and lived experiences. I am here to learn about your diverse backgrounds, help you with your struggles, and celebrate your triumphs.
I approach therapy through the lens of the client in the driver's seat, with me as the copilot/passenger with several road maps to pull out when ready. We share the same goal of navigating the journey to reach your chosen destination.
I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy with the understanding that clients are the experts in their lives. We will work together on recognizing your strengths and discovering tools you can use to achieve your goals. Learning about a person's past and relationships helps me understand who they are and where they want to go. My theoretical approach is a blend of person-centered, strength-based, and narrative, all rooted in multiculturalism.
Quote
“There is no standard of normal. Normal is subjective. There are over seven billion versions of normal on this planet” - Matt Haig
Important about me
I am an Asian American from an adoptive, blended family.
As a person growing up neurodivergent, I bring a different perspective to supporting individuals looking to learn more about their potential neurodivergence.
I support all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and strive to be an active ally to members of the community. My goal is to cultivate a validating, affirming, and empowering environment in which we can explore gender identity and sexuality exploration.
Families and individuals grow their families through less than traditional ways. This could be through supporting families navigating the world of infertility and the recurring pain of unfulfilled wishes. Or this may be supporting families beginning or well into their adoption journeys. I believe it is essential to support families anywhere in their journey. I also understand that growing a family in nontraditional ways is met with a lot of hardship and personal growth. I honor the importance of doing self-awareness work for the impact on generations. Growing families is about opening homes to ALL new members, celebrating and encouraging the whole person.
