Some Fun Facts

I am Katie, and I graduated with a degree in Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I am relatively new to Pittsburgh, having grown up in Ohio and lived in the Washington, DC, area for many years. I'm a city girl at heart, but I love my current South Hills suburban neighborhood. On the weekends, you'll find me spending time with my family, along with our loving and loyal dog, Maxine, and our cat, Eli, who has been mostly disgruntled since the dog arrived.

I love to binge-watch television, take long walks while listening to podcasts, and socialize with my neighbors and friends any chance I get! I am not ashamed to admit how much I love Starbucks Iced Coffee or McDonald's Diet Coke.

What working with me is like

I have a client-centered approach to counseling and believe each person is on their own unique journey. I create a safe (virtual or in person) space for my clients where they can  express themselves and feel understood and accepted. I develop genuine therapeutic relationships with my clients filled with empathy, compassion, curiosity, and even a little humor when appropriate.

Important about me

As a mother who experienced postpartum depression and anxiety, I know the struggles parents experience after the arrival of a new baby. Whether you are a new birthing parent navigating this massive change in your life or you are dealing with infertility, grief, trauma, or loss, I am here to listen and guide you in your journey.

I also provide support to those adjusting to changes in their lives and experiencing depression, anxiety, and confusion about how to navigate life. Being a human is hard, and we all need a little guidance along the way to help us discover the right direction.
