I approach therapy with two major elements in mind. Many of us experience anxiety and depression or the struggles of living neurodivergent. There's a lot of knowledge, research, and lived experience from which we can develop healthier ways to cope with life and build a community of people who get us. We work from this menu of skills and practice daily as best we can.
But we also have to reckon with the past and tend to those wounds. Therapy challenges us to explore the past and feel what needs to be felt, say what needs to be said, and accept what needs to be accepted. Healing really begins when we can see all our flaws and strengths, develop self-compassion, and accept ourselves as we are.
Our goal, then, is to show up to therapy honest, authentic, and ready to make a change.
Some Fun Facts
I'm learning that one of the gifts of neurodivergence is discovering yourself all over again.

What working with me is like
My goal in therapy is to maintain a space for compassionate and nonjudgmental connection. Part of our work together is to understand how the traumas of life have impacted you and all the ways you've survived.
Good therapy includes evidence-based skills and techniques, but it's also more than that. I believe - as a therapist and a client - that a good therapist is someone who has your best interests at heart, someone who challenges you, supports you in session and isn't afraid to be genuine and honest with you.
